Ordinary Injustice: How America Holds Court

Amy Bach, local lawyer and journalist/author talks about her research into the nation's justice system and her resulting book, shedding much-needed light onto the realities of what can happen to accused and victim alike. "How ordinary people are treated should matter to all of us," says Bach. It matters to her and it matters to the Judicial Process Commission.

Special Awards for Community Activism

Founders' Award:

Isabel Morrison, Lifetime advocate for justice to many disenfranchised peoples, current JPC Board member & Elder at Downtown Presbyterian Church; served as President of the Genesee Ecumenical Ministry & liaison to JPC when it originated in the early 1970's.

Justicia Awards:

Sally Dodgson, Board member & Spiritual Director of Church Women United, has championed prisoners, immigrants & urban youth, now in Rochester's Northeast, where she continues a ministry to the poor through her American Baptist Church which she represented for 25 years of service in India.


Elaine Spaull, Executive Director, the Center for Youth & Rochester City Council Vice-President; her ongoing commitment to youth advocacy includes having co-chaired the Youth Services Quality Council & playing a leadership role on Mayor Johnson's Anti-Violence Work Team.


Valerie White-Whittick, Mentor Coordinator, Judicial Process Commission, Board member & Personal Ministries Director at Jefferson Ave. Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is a graduate of RIT & retired from Xerox who also has 13 years of experience with prison ministry.
