Mentor Training Program, Sept. 2012
Posted on August 16, 2012 by JPCAdmin
Judicial Process Commission (JPC)
285 Ormond Street, Rochester, New York 14605
(585)325-7727 * FAX (585) 325-2165 * Email
The Judicial Process Commission (JPC) Community Adult Mentoring Program is in need of individuals who are concerned about the violence in our city, and would like to help by becoming a mentor to someone who has been involved in the criminal justice system.
Individual men and women need your help to successfully re-start their life after being incarcerated. It has been well documented that they have a better probability of success if they have a mentor. Just to let someone know that you care, and are available for encouragement and sound, practical advice means a lot when you’re fighting to get your life straightened out.
JPC is a non-profit organization that has served our community for over 40 years. It offers mentoring, case management, job search assistance; resume writing, completion of Certificate of Relief of Disabilities applications, assistance with obtaining ID, food and clothing. JPC is a very special grass roots organization with a small staff and a dedicated corps of volunteers to provide this wide array of services. As a result, numerous individuals have become law abiding-citizens again.
We hope that you will help us by becoming a volunteer mentor and communicating this need to your peers, friends and acquaintances.
Your assistance is needed to help men and women (and their children) break the cycle and become successful citizens. If you are able to serve as a mentor, please contact me at your earliest convenience at jpc6@rocjpc.org or 325-7727.
Our next Mentor Training Program
is September 17th and 18th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm
at 84 Scio Street (one block from East Main St. near the Eastman Theatre).
Thank you for your consideration of our request, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Valerie White-Whittick
JPC Mentor Coordinator
